SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 — The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is targeting RM250 million in deposits through Bulan Menabung Simpan SSPN (BMS) 2026, which begins Saturday in conjunction with World Savings Day.
PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim said the target was supported by the excellent record of previous deposit collections, which demonstrated the public’s strong confidence in the country’s leading education savings product.
“As of Aug 31, a total of RM25.86 billion in Simpan SSPN deposits had been received through the opening of 7.66 million accounts nationwide.
“PTPTN is targeting RM250 million in deposit collections through this year’s BMS campaign to ensure the product’s strong performance momentum continues,” she said.
She said this in her speech at the launch ceremony, which was also attended by PTPTN Board of Management member Husna Abdul Rahman and PTPTN chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid at Central i-City Mall here today.
Elaborating, Norliza said the ninth edition of the programme, since it was first introduced in 2018, featured various programmes to promote the National Education Savings Scheme (Simpan SSPN) as the preferred savings product among Malaysians.
“Saving is not merely about setting aside money for future use, but also provides an avenue to plan our children’s education journey in a more organised and prudent manner.
“Through BMS 2026, PTPTN is committed to continuing to nurture a responsible and financially literate MADANI society to safeguard the future of the country’s younger generation,” she said.
Meanwhile, she said the BMS 2026 promotional campaign, which runs from Sept 25 to Nov 1, features the theme ‘Di Bawah Lautan’ (Under the Sea), along with the popular hashtag #JomJadiSuperheroAnakAnda.
She said Simpan SSPN offers various attractive benefits, including income tax relief of up to RM8,000 a year, free takaful protection for depositors, a matching grant of up to RM10,000 for eligible families, as well as competitive dividends.
eanwhile, the promotional activities were further enlivened by a prize-giving ceremony for winners of various campaigns organised by PTPTN.
The grand prize winner of the Simpan SSPN Baru Slay! Draw, Slay 2 category, which offered a Yamaha NVX 155, Siti Aishah Mohd Noh, 28, said she and her husband had never expected to win any prizes when they opened their Simpan SSPN account, but did so for the future of their two children.
“As the grand prize winner, I am grateful to have won a Yamaha NVX 155 motorcycle as a result of consistently saving for my two children, aged three and one-and-a-half,” she said.
The housewife, who lives in armed forces quarters in Bukit Jalil, also expressed her happiness that her family had strongly encouraged her and her husband to save consistently to secure their children’s educational future.
For the Simpan SSPN Plus 2026 WOW! Plus Series 2 Draw category, luck was on the side of 66-year-old songkok seller Md Doli Mohd Nor from Gemas, Negeri Sembilan.
He took home a RM20,000 cash prize as a result of his disciplined habit of saving consistently, starting from as little as RM1 a day.
The BMS 2026 will be held at Mydin Bukit Mertajam, Penang, on Oct 3, as well as at several selected locations nationwide.
