SIA Extends Dubai Flight Cancellations Until August 2 Amid West Asia Conflict

SINGAPORE, May 7 — Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) has extended flight cancellations to and from Dubai up until August 2 due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

The airline said flights SQ494 departing Singapore to Dubai and SQ495 from Dubai to Singapore will be cancelled.

“As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected. Customers affected by the flight cancellations will be re-accommodated on alternative flights or can seek a full refund of the unused portion of their ticket,” it said in an advisory posted on Facebook.

The airline had previously announced the cancellation of the same flights through May 31, following the conflict.

Meanwhile, in a written reply in Parliament today, Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow noted that there are only 55 weekly flights between Singapore and Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, and Jeddah, compared with 154 weekly flights before the conflict began in February.
