Zetrix AI in Talks to Resolve JPJ Suspension Amid RM314m Arrears

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 -: Zetrix AI Bhd said it is in talks to resolve Road Transport Department services suspension.

The digital services firm confirmed that collection services for the department, better known by its Malay acronym JPJ, will be temporarily suspended effective Monday. Zetrix AI “is currently in discussion to resolve the issues,” the company said in a three-sentence filing to the exchange.

The announcement comes on the heels of The Edge Malaysia’s report on the suspension of Zetrix AI and its subsidiary MyEG Sdn Bhd as collection agents, as well as the notice from the Road Transport Department, both dated Oct 2.

JPJ said the decision was made after taking into account the companies’ compliance with the terms and conditions of their agreements, as well as outstanding obligations that have yet to be fulfilled or settled.

Zetrix AI owes the government more than RM200 million in payments collected for vehicle road tax, driving licence renewals and traffic summonses since its three-year contract began in May 2023, according to a spokesperson with the Transport Ministry.

Founded as MyEG Services Bhd in 2000, the company was a pioneer in providing online government services through its link-up with JPJ.
