69th National Day: Jalur Gemilang Flies Proudly at Four Landmarks in Qatar

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 – The 69th National Day was celebrated in grand style in Qatar as the Jalur Gemilang illuminated four major landmarks in Doha on Aug 31, boosting the patriotic spirit among Malaysian expats.

The Malaysian Embassy in Doha said in a statement that the Malaysian flag was displayed using LED lights on the Torch Tower, Sheraton Doha Hotel, The View Hospital and the largest LED screen at Port Mina Doha.

“The effort to fly the Jalur Gemilang at four key Qatari landmarks was driven by the Malaysian Embassy in Doha,” according to the statement.

It said the initiative also received full cooperation from Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the management of the Torch Tower, Sheraton Hotel Doha, The View Hospital and Qatar National Museum.

The embassy also organised a photo contest with attractive prizes for Malaysians capturing the best shots of the national flag at these landmarks.

It noted that approximately 6,300 Malaysian expatriates currently reside in Qatar.
