KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated Professor Dr Kuik Cheng-Chwee on being ranked among the world’s top two per cent of scientists in 2026.

Anwar said the achievement by the Principal Fellow of the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), reflected his academic excellence and contributions to knowledge, while raising Malaysia’s profile internationally.

“May this achievement continue to foster a culture of knowledge, strengthen the tradition of research and inspire future generations of scholars to contribute to the country’s progress,” he said in a post on X today.

The prestigious list, compiled through a collaboration between Stanford University and academic publisher Elsevier, ranked Kuik 31st worldwide in the subfield of International Relations, making him the highest-ranked scholar in Asia.
