Helicopter catches fire during engine test at Subang Airport, four escape unhurt

Four people escape unhurt after a helicopter caught fire when it was about to take off for engine testing after repairs today.

Kuala Lumpur , Aug 15 – Four people escape unhurt after a helicopter caught fire when it was about to take off for engine testing after repairs today.

The incident took place at the KarbonMRO area, Subang Airport.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 12.30pm and arrived at the location at 12.34 pm.

“The operations commander reported that a helicopter was 100 percent on fire when the fire brigade arrived at the location. The extinguishing work was also carried out by the airport fire brigade together with the personnel on duty.

“The latest report informs that four victims managed to escape when the fire broke out,” he said in a statement.
