KOTA KINABALU, Oct 16 — The 17th Sabah election will be held on November 29, the Election Commission (EC) announced today.
EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said nominations will be on November 15, with early voting on November 25.
“Over 1,784,843 million eligible voters will carry out their responsibilities (in the 17th Sabah election),” he told a press conference after chairing a special meeting for the polls at the Sabah Federal Government Administrative Complex here today.
On October 6, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced the dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly to pave the way for the state polls.
The Sabah assembly comprises 79 seats, 73 representatives for which are elected, while six are appointed.
