KUCHING, July 23 — AirBorneo Airways (AirBorneo) marked Sarawak Day yesterday by launching its first international route, connecting Kuching with Singapore via Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4.
In a statement today, the Sarawak-owned airline said flight MY363 departed Kuching on July 22 at 6.50 pm and arrived in Singapore at 8.04 pm.
“The return flight, MY364, departed Singapore at 9.27 pm and arrived in Kuching at 10.36 pm. Launched on Sarawak Day, AirBorneo’s first international route celebrates Sarawak’s growth and its increasing connectivity with the region,” it said.
AirBorneo chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the launch of the airline’s first international route marks a significant milestone for AirBorneo and Sarawak.
“Singapore is an important regional gateway and this new route will strengthen tourism, trade, investment and people-to-people connections between Sarawak and Singapore,” he said.
AirBorneo chief executive officer Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin said the launch of the airline’s first international route marks an important milestone in AirBorneo’s next phase of growth.
“Singapore is a natural choice for our first international destination, reflecting the strong connectivity and close economic ties between Sarawak and one of the region’s key aviation and commercial hubs.
“We look forward to connecting Sarawak with more destinations, strengthening regional connectivity and supporting the state’s long-term growth,” he said.
AirBorneo will operate daily flights between Kuching and Singapore.
