KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 — The European Union (EU) shares the same view as Malaysia on the issue of Palestine, said the Ambassador of the European Union to Malaysia, Rafael Daerr.
He said the EU has spent €12 billion in aid and technical support for Palestine.
“Malaysia stands clearly on the issue of Palestine, and so does the EU,” he said in his speech at the Europe Day reception here on Monday.
Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan represented the Malaysian government at the event.
According to Daerr, the EU, comprising 27 countries, has a shared commitment to peace.
He said the EU is set to move forward in strengthening its partnership with Malaysia in all sectors.
