19 Killed, 24 Injured in Israeli Attacks on Lebanon in Past 24 Hours: Health Ministry

BEIRUT / ISTANBUL Sept 8 — At least 19 people were killed and 24 others injured in Israeli attacks on Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Monday, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

The total death toll from the Israeli attacks since March 2 has reached 4,381 and 12,402 injured as of Monday, the ministry said in a statement.

The latest casualties brought the overall toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since Oct. 8, 2023 to 8,948 killed and 30,638 injured, the statement added.

Israel continues to launch airstrikes across southern Lebanon despite an agreement brokered by the US signed this June.

The agreement provides for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army in those areas.

Israel continues to occupy areas in southern Lebanon, some held for decades and others seized during the 2023–2024 war. It has also expanded the territory under its occupation during its ongoing offensive.
