ISTANBUL, Nov 5 — The White House on Wednesday posted an image of US President Donald Trump leaning over the Resolute Desk, accompanied by the message: “PSA: Trump is still your President.”, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
The post on the White House’s account on social media platform X came after Democrats made significant gains in Tuesday’s midterm elections, winning control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate and ending Republican control of Congress.
The results are expected to give Democrats greater leverage to block Trump’s legislative agenda, as Republicans previously held narrow majorities in both chambers.
Trump earlier acknowledged that Democrats “did a good job” in the elections, arguing that Republican candidates would have performed better had he been on the ballot.
He also said voters supported his Iran policy but “probably weren’t willing” to accept the short-term cost of higher petrol prices.
Praising Democratic candidates for campaigning “hard,” Trump insisted the outcome was not a “hit on me.”
The president said he was willing to work with Democrats on “many, many things,” including immigration. – Anadolu
