Brent Crude Rallying to US$78 Per Barrel After US Strikes on Iran

MOSCOW, July 13 — The price of Brent crude oil rose by about US$2 to US$78 per barrel amid reports of US strikes on Iran, according to trading data, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

As of 22:21 GMT Sunday, the price of September futures for Brent crude oil rose sharply to US$78 per barrel, compared to the previous close of $76.01 per barrel. The price of August WTI futures rose to US$73.79 from US$71.41 per barrel.

Earlier, Iran’s state broadcaster reported explosions in at least three Iranian port cities – Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Jask – as well as on the Iranian island of Qeshm in the Strait of Hormuz.

US Central Command also said the US military, on orders from President Donald Trump, had begun launching new strikes against Iran
